53rd EWGCFM Meeting & 2nd International Conference of the RCEM
Workshop on: Commodities and Policy Implications

The 53rd Meeting of the Euro Working Group on Commodities and Financial Modelling (EWGCFM) and 2nd International Conference of the Research Centre for Energy Management (RCEM) took place on 22-24 of May, 2014 in Chania, Crete.

The Conference was organized by the Technical University of Crete (Financial Engineering Laboratory), in collaboration with the RCEM at ESCP Europe Business School, under the auspices of the EWGCFM.

The meeting aimed to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and to present new research results on the theory and modern practice of modelling, risk management, asset pricing and energy management, with also a focus on commodities modelling and regulation within the framework of our 1-day workshop "Commodities and Policy Implications".

1 DAY COURSE ON 21st MAY 2014

A course titled "Introduction to Oil and Gas Exploration and Production: non-technical language" was scheduled on 21st of May. The course provided a comprehensive overview of the oil and gas exploration and production industry from an historical, current and future perspective for both non-technical and technical staff. The principles of exploration, development and production were covered and complemented by what is happening in the industry and what the future holds. The full lifecycle of exploration to product deliver will be covered.
